For a winter wedding, there's always the wish for snow. But DC seems to be in a snow desert and often we don't have much snow. But this bride wished for snow and sure enough a few days before the wedding 5 inches fell and hung around. If it's going to be cold, it should snow, right? But snow can be hard to photograph, it's just white and if the sun comes out it's blindingly white. So the perfect combo is a little blue sky and a little snow. Picture perfect. Could I order this weather for every winter wedding, please? These pictures are stunning and we couldn't have asked for more perfect weather at River Farm along the Potomac River in Alexandria, VA. River Farm is always beautiful in any season. I think it's the best garden wedding venue in northern Virginia. But snow is magical on a wedding day! And it was such fun to capture these gorgeous couple pictures in the snow at River Farm with the Potomac River in the background. The small ceremony was held in the parlor, which has a picture window overlooking the landscape and the river. While River Farm can accommodate a large garden wedding with tented reception. It's perfect for a small wedding too with a ceremony in the parlor and reception in the ballroom. It's no wonder it's such a popular wedding venue. As home of the American Horticultural Society the gardens are always beautiful for pictures or wedding ceremonies and receptions. It's also a historical property as it was once part of George Washington's farm land. And in warmer weather, couples can get married under the large Osage Orange tree which was a gift from Thomas Jefferson to George Washington.
