A saber arch is so romantic after a church wedding ceremony for a newly married military couple. This was outside the beautiful and historic Christ Church in Georgetown Washington DC. A gorgeous place for a ceremony especially if you love old historic chapels. The saber arch, whether at the end of the ceremony of at the beginning for the reception, is always so romantic and patriotic, and such a special tribute to military service. And always makes for the best wedding pictures. Something special only found at a military wedding. This winter Washington DC wedding finished just as the sun was setting so while it was dark there was just enough light left in the sky for the beautiful blue color. And fortunately there was a lamp on the side of the church to offer another light source to warmly illuminate the couple. They stopped for a kiss in the middles of the arch. The other fun thing about a winter wedding is the accessories. When else can a bride wear a fur stole and long white leather gloves? And so classic with the white dress uniform of the groom. This was the couple's favorite wedding picture and mine too. As a wedding photographer I enjoy telling the unique story of each couple and showing all the elements of their day unfold. So much planning goes into a wedding day, you want pictures of all of it so you remember every detail and every emotion. This couple was stations apart and would be apart again after the honeymoon. So every minute together was precious. Thank you to all our men and women who serve and sacrifice for us!
